Our FINAL Club Meeting held at Heffron Hall was on Wednesday evening the 9th of September at 8 pm. What an interesting evening, as all who attended commented that they really enjoyed the subject matter of the monthly competition that I had set for them at the previous meeting. The fruits of this can be seen here on this web site...
The photos enclosed (attached) are as follows:
1st MERIT AWARD to Christ Christian for his Reflections Entry taken down at Bondi Beach from off the side of a Bus Shelter.
2nd MERIT AWARD to Geoff Ostling In the general Photographic category … Man with half his body tattooed, with great natural lighting, and wonderfully colourful tattoos, very tastefully presented, ready for the second half to be done.
1st PRICE WINNER to Joe Wing for his REFLECTIONS Photo. Taken with a lot of care, and using his sister as the hand model. Notice the writing was written in reverse to get the right effect.
2nd PRIZE WINNER to Geoff Ostling for his REFLECTIONS entry, taken at Bruce Piper's Bird Bath.
3rd PRIZE WINNER to RODNEY HUTTEN for his photo on the harbour.
Now, three guesses as to the subject matter for this months Photo/Movie/Slide Competition...yes, you guessed it..."The Olympic Spirit". So get your cameras out and grab those moments on film, bring them along to the next club meeting which will be held at the new location at 96 Crystal Street (1 pm) after the MCC Morning service. The next camera club meeting will be on Sunday afternoon the 15th of October. And the subject for the members & friends to join in on photographically for this coming month is " THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT", followed by the November competition which will be "PORTRAITS".
Oh, by the way, we want you to bring a long a plate or tray of food (even a barrel of KFC if you like) 'cause we're gonna have a POT LUCK LUNCH (Smorg-as-borg) at mid-day before the Camera Club meeting, and all are invited to join in the fun of the afternoon....with a very special guest to chat to us, and help in the judging of the comp.
The following month SUNDAY the 19th on November, the monthly competition will be "PORTRAITS". I think we'll have a great time with that, and with a very special guest to judge this one, who you won't want to miss out on meeting. (SEE PHOTO HERE of an example photo of Portrait).
Come along and join in on the fun of the PHOTOGRAPHIC AFTERNOON'S with great prizes to be won, special guests, door prizes, and a great opportunity to learn how to use your still & video camera, or show off your skills with the team.
